This 1988 Lamborghini Jalpa was manufactured in December 1987 and is #381 of 410 examples built between 1981 and 1988. The car was first sold by Mark LaPrade’s Maserati/Lotus of St. Petersburg, Florida in October 1988, and remained with its first owner in Mississippi until being acquired by WCDM in July 2020. Power comes from a 3.5-liter DOHC V8 coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox, and the car is freshly finished in a red with gold refinished Tecnomagnesio wheels and a tan interior. Amenities include a removable roof panel, a gated shifter, an Alpine CD stereo, air conditioning, and more.
A compression check was recently performed all cylinders are within 5 PSI. This final-year Jalpa shows 13k kilometers (~8k miles) and is offered with original bills of sale and landing, additional purchase documentation, factory literature, rear wing, a tool roll, emergency kits, service records, vehicle history reports, a statement written by the original owner, and clean BC Registration.
The Bertone-designed body is finished in Fresh Siviglia Red (PPG 215157) with black bumpers and features a removable roof panel as well as pop-up headlights . Freshly refinished Gold 15″ Tecnomagnesio phone-dial wheels were reportedly ordered when new and wear factory Pirelli P7 tires that date-coded to the 43rd week of 1987 and should be replaced due to age. An OZ space-saver spare is mounted in the front trunk. The Jalpa featured four-wheel independent suspension as well as rack-and-pinion steering.
The cabin is trimmed in Champagne leather with red piping on the seats, door panels, and center console along with brown carpets and a black upper dash. Features include power windows, air conditioning, an Alpine cassette stereo, a digital Jaeger clock, and a gated shifter. A three-spoke steering wheel frames a 280 kmh-speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline, while Jaeger gauges for oil pressure, coolant and oil temperature, and fuel level are mounted above the center stack. The 3.5-liter L353 DOHC V8 is mounted amidships and was rated at 255 horsepower when new. The selling dealer points out factory decals.
